Problem
The school network ran its branches and campuses on several separate paid subscriptions. Data about classes, staff, students, grades and attendance was split between them, so the head office had no single picture, and each tool stored the data in its own format. Communication between teachers and parents, and between campus staff and the head office, had no common place.
Solution
- One internal platform for the whole network: branches and campuses, classes, staff and students.
- Grades and attendance recorded in the same system, linked to each student and class.
- A single data model, so information from every campus is in sync and stored in the format the head office works with.
- Built-in communication between teachers and parents, and between campus staff and the head office.
- Front end in React and TypeScript, back end on Node.js, data in PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS.
Result
- The network moved off several expensive subscriptions to its own system.
- All data from every branch and campus is in sync and in one place, in a format that suits the company.
- Teachers, parents, campus staff and the head office communicate in the same platform.
